Breeders Theater begins its fifth season with Rescues, Inc.
BURIEN - Can a dragon and a damsel work
things out when it comes to romance? Breeders Theater's ninth production at
E.B. Foote Winery looks at fairy tale love in Rescues, Inc., a new
comedy with music.
"The monster's always falling for the beautiful girl, which never made any sense to me," says T.M. Sell, who wrote the book and lyrics. "Why would King Kong fall for Fay Wray? Wouldn't he prefer a rather fetching ape maiden?"
Rescues features original music by Nancy Warren. It is directed by J Howard Boyd (editors: J with no period is CQ), with choreography by Patricia M. Britton and costumes by Melissa Sell.
The cast includes Eric Hartley as the dragon and Julie Haakenson as the damsel, with Doug Knoop, Kirsten Olds, Jim Cooper, William Hamer, Matt Loehrke, Martin J. Mackenzie, Carlos Calvo and Scott Green.
Show dates are Jan. 20, 21, 27, 28, Feb. Feb. 1, 3 and 4 at 7 p.m.; Jan. 22, 29, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m. All proceeds from Feb. 1 show benefit the Highline College Foundation.
